Welcome to the home page of Fly Killarney Inc., the Killarney Paragliding Club, where we hope to provide you with all the necessary information about flying in this area and about the Killarney PG competition. If you have comments or questions, please feel free to contact the team.

For those who don't know about Killarney: it is located about 3 hours drive inland from the Gold Coast of QLD. Some launches are owned by local pilot Andrew Horchner, others are leased from their respective owners by the club.

Killarney offers some of the best XC flying in Queensland and nationally; it has numerous launch sites that cover most directions in very close proximity to each other. There are 1000's of km of wide open flatlands to the west with excellent road networks throughout. In the past people have accomplished quite rewarding flights in the Killarney area, flying over and gazing down upon extinct volcanic plugs and the picturesque flatlands of the Darling Downs.

AGM Date set: 24.-26.1.2009

The AGM for Fly Killarney Inc. will be held on the long weekend in January starting the 24th to the 26th 2009. The meeting will be held on the Saturday night at 7:00 pm at a venue to be advised, in the Killarney Area. If you are coming out for this weekend please book accomodation early as it is a busy week end in the area.

Paying your comp fee with Paypal is currently not possible, as the comp organizers are busy sorting out some Paypal trouble. We expect this to be resolved within a week or thereabouts.

Logging Trucks on Gambugal Road

Andrew advises that heavy logging trucks are using Gambugal Road pretty much daily; they use UHF channel 9 (and so should you on the way up...).
